James Springall is a British artist who sources and recontextualizes found imagery. His paper collages, photomontages, prints, screenprints, installations and readymades question the ownership of images whilst often addressing societal issues and exploring the human condition. His work has been shown in group exhibitions at the Royal Academy of Arts and Saatchi Gallery (London), Towner Gallery (Eastbourne), Feinkunst Krüger (Hamburg) and LESS Festival (Viborg), published in The Age of Collage 3 (Gestalten), featured by magazines including AnOther, Elephant and HUCK, and commissioned by brands including Rough Trade, Noble Rot and VICE. He has curated exhibitions of contemporary collage for Jealous Gallery (London) and The Viborg Kunsthal (Denmark). He lives and works near Rye, East Sussex.
